Chapters Review

Interactive story app

Chapters: Interactive Stories is a choice-based romance app from Crazy Maple Studio, free to download and paid for in diamonds and tickets: 20 diamonds cost $1.99 and 550 cost $39.99. This Chapters review works out the cost per diamond and a ticket, and sets its 16+ App Store rating beside a terms clause that excludes people under 18.

Quick answer

  • Price: four diamond packs print counts: 20 for $1.99, 60 for $4.99, 250 for $19.99 and 550 for $39.99, which is 9.95 cents a diamond down to 7.27. Five tickets are $1.99, about 40 cents each. "Chapters VIP" is $9.99 and "DayPass" $0.99, with no periods stated.
  • What a choice costs: not published. Neither the store text nor any help page says what a diamond buys, what a ticket unlocks or what a premium choice costs.
  • Endings: the copy says Your choices shape pivotal moments and lead to different experiences throughout the story. No number of endings.
  • Ratings: 16+ on the App Store, Mature 17+ on Google Play (10M+ downloads on the main listing).
  • Age: the terms say The Service is strictly for consumers and not for use by users under 18 years of age.

What Is Chapters?

Chapters is a library of choice-based romance stories read on a phone, one chapter at a time, with a decision at key points. The store copy sells forbidden romance, Mafia stories, contract marriages and second chances, and uses lines like One forbidden night with him forces you into an unwanted marriage for its tone. The App Store title is "Chapters: Interactive Stories"; Google Play carries two listings, the main one under the same name and a smaller one titled "Chapters: Stories You Play".

The operator is Crazy Maple Studio, Inc. Its company site lists three products: ReelShort, Chapters and My Fiction. The domain chaptersgame.com serves the same corporate page, so there is no separate site for the app. The terms page we read is dated October 20th, 2025.

Chapters review: who it suits

From the listings, Chapters suits a reader who wants a very widely installed romance choice app with mafia and contract-marriage tropes, and who accepts that the rules of its currencies are not published. It also has a writer side, the Writing Room, described below. It is a weaker fit if you want to read offline or in a browser: both stores say Chapters: Interactive Stories is an online game and requires an internet connection to play, and the company site lists mobile apps only.

Support is an in-game form, according to the company's contact page, and there is no public help centre. That is why this page cannot say what the free tier gives you, or what a ticket does. Neither is described in the store text.

How much the choices change

The claim in the App Store copy is that Your choices shape pivotal moments and lead to different experiences throughout the story. Read closely, it names pivotal moments and "different experiences", which is weaker than a promise of different endings. It does not say how many endings a story has, how many choices are cosmetic, or whether a decision from chapter three comes back later.

Because we count endings rather than choices, we record Chapters as saying that choices matter and publishing no count. Our page on branching choices shows where a count is available, and the glossary entry on choice-based stories explains why the number is the useful one.

Diamonds and tickets: what a diamond costs

The App Store names two premium currencies in its in-app list: diamonds and tickets. Four items state a diamond count, and one states a ticket count:

PackPriceCost per unit
20 diamonds$1.99$9.95 per 100 diamonds
60 diamonds$4.99$8.32 per 100 diamonds
250 diamonds$19.99$8.00 per 100 diamonds
550 diamonds$39.99$7.27 per 100 diamonds
5 tickets$1.99about $0.40 per ticket

The largest diamond pack is about a quarter cheaper per diamond than the smallest. What the table cannot give is the figure readers most want: how many diamonds a premium choice costs, or how many tickets a chapter takes. Neither store text nor any help page says, the price appears only inside the app, and we do not install apps. "Gift package 1", "gift package 2" and "9.99gift" carry no description at all.

Google Play shows ranges, not a list: $0.49 to $299.99 per item on the main listing and $0.49 to $129.99 on the smaller one. Both reach far above the $39.99 top of the App Store list, so the iPhone list is not the whole ladder. "Chapters VIP" at $9.99 and "DayPass" at $0.99 appear on the App Store; the billing period and perks are not stated in the listing, so we do not call either a monthly plan. Our guide to story app credits covers the general mechanics and the Chapters cost page collects the figures.

What you can get for free

Chapters is free to download on both stores. What a free player gets, in tickets, free chapters or free diamonds, is not confirmed. Both stores flag advertising, and Apple lists loot boxes among what the app contains, which is a store-level description of how some purchases work. We can say that and no more, because the pages we read do not explain the mechanism.

The age figures: 16+ on the store, 18 in the terms

Chapters inverts the pattern found on most apps in this section. Its terms set the higher age.

  • The App Store listing shows 16+. Apple marks mature or suggestive themes as frequent and sexual content or nudity as infrequent.
  • The Google Play main listing shows Mature 17+, and so does the second listing.
  • The terms say The Service is strictly for consumers and not for use by users under 18 years of age.

So the App Store rating is lower than the age the terms set. We do not know how the app checks age at sign-up, because we do not install it or create accounts. Explicit scenes are not confirmed: there is no developer statement on explicit content.

We looked for a sentence saying that all characters are adults on the App Store listing, both Google Play listings and the terms, and did not find one. That describes the pages we read. The store copy shows no school or under-age framing, and the catalogue is large and has not been audited title by title.

For writers: the Writing Room

Chapters has a writer programme, the Writing Room at ugc.crazymaplestudios.com, which describes itself as a creator platform for writing and managing interactive stories for Chapters. The Google Play listing says you can publish your own interactive stories, and the App Store flags user-generated content. Payment or royalty terms are not published in the pages we read, so we state no revenue share. For how other services pay, see how erotica platforms pay writers.

Privacy and billing

The terms are the only policy document we recorded. A privacy policy address, a card descriptor, a refund rule and a cancellation route were not recorded, so we state none. Our cancellation guide covers store subscriptions, and what erotica apps look like on a bank statement covers the charge.

Pros

  • Very widely installed: 10M+ Google Play downloads on the main listing
  • Four diamond packs and one ticket pack print counts
  • A writer programme, the Writing Room, exists
  • The terms set a minimum age of 18, higher than the App Store rating

Cons

  • No public help centre: what diamonds, tickets and VIP do is not published
  • The price of a premium choice is not published
  • Online only, per both stores
  • No statement that all characters are adults

Best Chapters alternatives

The nearest rival is Choices, which also rates 16+ on the App Store and also sells keys and diamonds, but explains both in a public help centre. The head-to-head is on Chapters against Choices. Romance Club has a similar audience and prints no counts at all. Love Sick prints both diamond and key counts, and sets a terms floor of 16. For a ranked shortlist with reasons, read Chapters alternatives. The wider field is on the interactive erotica hub, and every review is in the apps section.

Final verdict

Chapters is among the most installed choice apps here and one of the least explained. It prints enough pack counts to price a diamond, and nothing about what a diamond buys. It suits a reader who wants its mafia and contract-marriage romances and accepts a currency with no help page. It is a poor fit for offline reading and for anyone who wants the cost of a choice up front. We have not installed it, so this is a read of the listings and the terms.
