Erotica Apps

Adult Fantasy Story Apps and Sites

Twenty-three services in our research publish a Fantasy category, genre row or store description, more than for any other genre we cover. The label means anything with magic in it, so it does not tell you whether the stories are explicit, and the counts that services show are not measuring the same thing.

23 services shelved here, each with its own category, tag or listing

Quick answer

  • Who publishes it: 23 services. Sixteen show Fantasy on a category page, genre row or tag list of their own, five on store-listing or explainer text, and two (Literotica and Archive of Our Own) on category counts we read but do not link.
  • Counts: Audible's Fantasy category showed 57,557 titles on October 27, 2026, Literotica's Sci-Fi & Fantasy category 39.4k stories and Archive of Our Own's Fantasy tag 192,353 works across every rating. They count titles, stories and works, and none is a count of erotic fantasy.
  • Free: 12 services let you read or listen without paying. Audible, Kindle+, Dreame, GoodNovel and Dipsea do not, and six more do not state what is free.
  • Formats: audio on 11 services, interactive stories on 6, AI-written stories on 2. Fantasy has more interactive options than any other genre here.
  • Heat: Fantasy is a setting, not a rating. Dorian, a romantasy game platform, excludes explicit sexual content in its guidelines.

What adult fantasy is, and where it blurs

Adult fantasy puts erotic or sexually explicit stories in invented worlds: magic, courts, dragons, fae, quests and monsters, often with a romance at the centre. The boundaries are fuzzy in both directions. Romantasy, which is romance with fantasy trappings, overlaps with paranormal, and services split the same creatures differently, with fae and dragons under Fantasy and werewolves under Paranormal. Dark fantasy overlaps with dark romance.

Many libraries file anything with magic under Fantasy, so the category does not mean the stories inside are explicit. A web novel app can have a large Fantasy shelf and still ban sexually explicit text, which is why the rules matter as much as the shelf.

Counts that are not comparable

Five of the 23 publish a number for Fantasy, and each counts something different. The table says what the unit is, because setting a title count next to a count of works under a free-form tag would mislead.

ServiceFigure shownWhat it counts
Audible57,557 (October 27, 2026)Audiobook titles in a general retail Fantasy category; Romance also has a Fantasy sub-category of 6,871
Literotica39.4k (October 27, 2026)Stories in a combined Sci-Fi & Fantasy category
Archive of Our Own192,353 (October 27, 2026)Works under a free-form Fantasy tag, all ratings, not erotic only
OhCleo467 (October 27, 2026)A number beside its combined Fantasy & Sci-Fi category that the service does not label
Quinn268 (October 27, 2026)A number beside its fantasy category that the service does not explain
Dreame, GoodNovel, WebnovelNone per genreWhole-library claims only: 500,000+ novels at Dreame, "hundreds of thousands of fanfictions" at Webnovel

The honest reading is that the free sites are the largest by a wide margin, the general retailers are large but mostly not erotic, and the adult-first audio services are small by comparison. No count here says how much of a library is explicit.

Retail stores: one label, several shapes

Audible files Fantasy twice. It is a category under Science Fiction & Fantasy, and it is also a sub-category of Romance, which is the closer match for romantasy. Smashwords splits Fantasy into Dark, Epic, Paranormal and Urban sub-categories, and also lists Paranormal under Romance and Historical, so a paranormal story can sit in three places. Apple Books combines fantasy with sci-fi in one category, and Google Play Books has a Fantasy category of its own. Kindle+ is recorded on Amazon's explainer text, which names fantasy among genres you can search.

These are general stores. Smashwords hides erotica until a registered user switches it on, Apple's guidelines ban "prohibited explicit or objectionable content" without defining it, and Google's policy allows sexually explicit books only with educational, artistic, historical or documentary value and a mature flag. A Fantasy shelf in any of them is the mainstream shelf, and our guide to why erotica apps disappear from the App Store explains the store rules behind that.

Audio libraries with a fantasy shelf

Dipsea tags its audio stories fantasy and paranormal, and its App Store listing mentions "fae fantasies" and a filter for queer or straight stories. It has no free plan, charges $12.99 a month or $69.99 a year, and claims 1000+ audio stories and audiobooks. It gives a 7-day trial on the annual plan only. Its site did not load when we rechecked on October 27, 2026, so the tags come from our research record of its home page.

Quinn and OhCleo are marketplaces where independent performers upload their own recordings, so their fantasy shelves are whatever creators filed there. OhCleo files fantasy and sci-fi together, and gives a free account with three stories in full; its one-month plan is $4.99 on the App Store. Quinn charges $7.99 a month or $59.99 a year, and states no free tier. For the services side by side, see audio erotica.

Fantasy-first reading apps

Webnovel is the most fantasy-heavy of the reading apps. Its App Store text lists Eastern fantasy (wuxia, xianxia, xuanhuan), Western fantasy, sci-fi, fan fiction and romance among its featured genres, and claims hundreds of thousands of fan fictions. Its App Store rating is 16+, and its terms ban "indecent" and "pornographic" content without naming explicit text. Chapters unlock with coins. The packs listed on October 27, 2026 run from 50 coins for $0.99 to 5,000 for $99.99, which is about 2 cents a coin at every size, so buying more gives no discount. What a chapter costs in coins is not published, so we cannot give a price per chapter.

Wattpad's genre row includes Fantasy and Paranormal, and its guidelines allow explicit scenes only in Mature stories. Dreame and GoodNovel list fantasy among their genres, and the terms of both bar sexually explicit content; the romance page sets out those rules in full. Velvet Novel, an iPhone app that needs a recent iOS, describes a dark fantasy library of witch covens, gothic fantasy and fated bonds, and calls itself dark fantasy rather than erotica. Roma lists "Fantasy & Paranormal Fiction" among its collections, and Spicify and Satinaire name fantasy among their genres, Satinaire as AI-written fantasy romance serials.

Interactive fantasy

Six services offer fantasy you can steer: Chyoa, DreamPress AI, Dorian, Scripts, Romance Club and Literotica's story games. Dorian is a platform for creator-made branching romance games, with a claimed 11,000+ games and genre chips including romantasy and fantasy. It is free to play, with sapphires earned in the game and hearts bought to support creators, but its community guidelines say explicit sexual content is not allowed. Romance Club lists Fantasy under "Explore genres". It is rated 18+ on the App Store with frequent sexual-content advisories, and its pages do not explain what its diamonds and tea buy. Chyoa is free to read signed out, and DreamPress AI generates stories on free daily credits. Our best interactive erotica apps page compares the choice-based options in more detail.

Free and paid

Twelve services have some free reading or listening: Smashwords, Apple Books, Google Play Books, Wattpad, OhCleo, Chyoa, DreamPress AI, Dorian, Roma, Satinaire, Literotica and Archive of Our Own. Free means a free part of the library in most cases. Five do not: Audible (a 30-day trial only), Kindle+ (a 30-day trial for new subscribers, then $11.99 a month plus taxes in the US), Dreame, GoodNovel and Dipsea. Six do not state a free tier on the pages we read: Webnovel, Quinn, Scripts, Romance Club, Velvet Novel and Spicify.

Fantasy borders three other pages. Erotic sci-fi is often filed with it in a single category, as at Literotica, Apple Books and OhCleo. The creature stories are on the page for paranormal stories. The general romance picture is on erotic romance. All of them sit under the genres section.

FAQ

What is romantasy?

Romance with fantasy trappings: a love story at the centre of an invented world. It overlaps with paranormal, and services file it differently. Audible, for example, has Fantasy as a sub-category of Romance, with 6,871 titles on October 27, 2026.

Is fantasy on these services explicit?

Not necessarily. Fantasy is a setting. Dorian excludes explicit sexual content, Webnovel bans "indecent" and "pornographic" content, and Dreame and GoodNovel bar sexually explicit content, while Literotica, Chyoa and DreamPress AI allow it between adults.

Where can I listen to adult fantasy?

Eleven of the 23 services have audio, including Audible, Dipsea, Quinn, OhCleo, Spicify and Satinaire. Literotica has an audio category that plays in a browser, and DreamPress AI narrates the stories it generates.

Are there interactive fantasy romance games?

Yes, on six services: Chyoa, DreamPress AI, Dorian, Scripts, Romance Club and Literotica. They differ in price, in who writes the stories and in what is allowed.

Which service has the largest fantasy library?

By the counts services publish, Archive of Our Own's Fantasy tag (192,353 works, all ratings) is the largest, and Audible's category (57,557 titles) is the largest retail one. The units differ, so the numbers are not a ranking.

Is there a free way to read fantasy romance?

Yes. Literotica and Archive of Our Own are free throughout, and Chyoa, Wattpad, Dorian and Roma have free reading with limits. Smashwords has free titles but hides erotica until switched on.
