MeChat Cost: Weekly, Monthly and Gem Packs

What does MeChat cost, week against month?

MeChat cost is mostly a question of which subscription you pick, because both are on the store list and everything else is unlabelled. A weekly payment of $4.99 looks small beside $9.99, and that is the point of weekly pricing: it is cheap on the day you see it. Our arithmetic shows how it compounds.

• Two weekly payments are $9.98, one cent under a month. A third makes the weekly plan dearer.
• Four weekly payments are $19.96, which is 1.998 times the monthly price.
• Fifty-two weekly payments are $259.48. Twelve monthly payments are $119.88. The weekly route costs about 2.16 times as much over a year.

The weekly plan only wins for a reader who wants to stay one or two weeks. For anyone planning a month or more, the monthly plan is the cheaper item on the same list, provided both unlock the same thing. That proviso is the problem: the listing does not say what either subscription includes, so we cannot say whether they differ.

The store list, item by item

Checked October 27, 2026. Source: apps.apple.com. Prices change with region, promotions and the store you buy through.

The App Store prints at most ten items, and the store lists some of them twice, so seven distinct items are recorded: the two subscriptions and five gem packs called Tiny, Handful, Small, Medium and Large. Google Play shows only a range of $0.99 - $199.99 per item, ten times the $19.99 top of the App Store gem packs, which means the iPhone list is not the whole ladder.

Gems: the price you cannot work out

Nothing in the store text says how many gems a pack holds, what a gem buys or what a choice costs. The five packs step $0.99, $1.99, $4.99, $9.99 and $19.99, each roughly double or more the one before. That is a price ladder, not a rate. Without a count there is no cents-per-gem, and without a choice price there is no cents-per-choice. These figures exist only inside the app, which we do not install, and we will not estimate them.

Two prices coincide with the subscriptions: the weekly plan and the Small Pack of Gems are both $4.99, and the monthly plan and the Medium Pack are both $9.99. Whether a subscription replaces gems or sits beside them is not stated.

Free tier, trial, cancelling and refunds

Free tier. The store copy calls MeChat a free to play, online game that requires an internet connection. What is free inside, such as free chapters or a daily gem allowance, is not confirmed, because there is no public help page. Trial. None is recorded; a trial would be a time-limited offer that bills at the end, which is a different thing from the free play.

Cancelling and refunds. We recorded no cancellation steps and no refund rule. The terms of use name the operator as IMPONILOX LIMITED of Cyprus and say, in section 6.11, that purchases are for people who are legal adults in their country of residence. A store subscription is cancelled in the store's settings, not in the app, which matters here because a weekly plan renews often. Our guide to cancelling a story app subscription covers the steps. Apple's guideline 3.1.2 requires a subscription to run at least seven days, so a weekly plan is the shortest the store allows.

Check you have the right app

A different app titled "MeChat - AI Friends" exists on the App Store under another developer. It is not this service. The one priced here is "MeChat - Interactive Stories", sold by IMPONILOX LIMITED and published as PlayMe Studio, and the developer site still shows the older name "MeChat - Love Secrets". Check the seller before you subscribe, because a subscription belongs to the app that sold it.

Is it worth paying? A short guide

General advice. Play the free part first and find out how long a story takes you. If you will use the app for more than two weeks, the weekly plan loses to the monthly one on price. Gems are a separate question you can only answer inside the app. A reader who wants the cost of a subscription stated clearly may prefer Tabou Stories, which prints both prices in the store text and says its plan gives unlimited tickets.
