Quick answer
- Price: "From $11.99/month after trial" on the home page, as shown in a browser with US dollars displayed. The Google Play text says "Starting at $11.99/month".
- Free: no free reading. The App Store text offers a 30-day trial when you subscribe on the website, or a 7-day trial through the App Store, and both include one free title.
- Erotica: there is a dedicated Erotica category. As recorded, it says the selection is for mature audiences and that a subscription is required to browse.
- Age, three ways: the Global Terms require users to be at least 18 and the App Store lists 18+, while Google Play lists the same service as
Everyone
. We record all three and do not resolve them. - Cancelling: through account settings on the site or the app. Fees are non-refundable except under a Refund Policy that we did not read.
What Is Everand?
Everand is a reading subscription. The App Store text describes it as "access to millions of audiobooks and ebooks", and our records add podcasts from participating publishers. It is what Scribd's ebook and audiobook service is now called: the operator is Scribd, Inc., the Subscriber Agreement was updated on November 10, 2025, and the Android listing still carries the Scribd developer name and package.
That history is why people search both names. Like Kindle+, which was renamed from Kindle Unlimited, the old name is still the one many readers use.
Everand review: who it suits
Going by the store text and the home page, Everand suits a reader who wants one subscription covering ebooks, audiobooks and podcasts, on a phone, a tablet or the web, with downloads. It is a weaker fit in three cases. If you want an erotica policy stated for the licensed library, the pages we read do not give one. If you want to see the Erotica category before paying, it needs a subscription to browse. If you want to know the price of every plan, the App Store lists one that it does not describe.
What is in the library
The only size claim is "millions of audiobooks and ebooks" from the App Store text, with no exact figure. The home page covers all genres, and the Erotica category sits among them. The inventory records that the category page says its selection is for mature audiences and that a subscription is required to browse. We could not re-read that page by script on October 27, 2026, because it returned a client challenge, so this is the blurb as recorded. We do not link to the category or to any title.
The licensed titles come from publishers. The Subscriber Agreement says content comes from participating publishers, and no direct author programme was found. The Scribd upload programme is for documents, not paid fiction.
Is Everand free?
Not to read. The App Store text says: "Enjoy a free trial for 30 days when you subscribe on our website, or a 7-day trial via the App Store - both include 1 free title. Cancel anytime." The home page says "Read free for 30 days". The pages we read do not state whether a card is needed to start a trial. Our guide to free erotica covers options that need no subscription at all.
How much Everand costs
| Plan | Price | Billed | What you get |
|---|---|---|---|
| Everand (from) | $11.99 | month | Subscription to ebooks, audiobooks and podcasts. 'From $11.99/month after trial'; the App Store says there are three plans without naming their contents. |
Checked October 27, 2026. Source: everand.com. Prices change with region, promotions and the store you buy through.
The home page figure was seen in a browser session on October 27, 2026 with US dollars shown, and it is a "from" price. The App Store lists three in-app purchases: "Scribd Membership" and "Everand Legacy" at $11.99, and "Everand Plus" at $16.99. What Everand Plus includes, and whether it is monthly, is not described on the listing, so we do not say. At $11.99 a month the cost of a year is $143.88, the same as Kindle+ at its US price before taxes.
The Subscriber Agreement says the subscription "continues until canceled by You or We terminate Your access", and that monthly or annual fees are charged automatically. See Everand against Kindle+ for the two subscription libraries side by side.
Age rating: three sources, two answers
This is the part of the record that does not agree with itself, and we publish every side.
- Its own terms: the Global Terms of Use say "You must be at least 18 years old to use the Services", and list using the Services under 18 as a prohibited use. Global Terms of Use.
- The App Store: the listing shows an age rating of 18+. Everand on the App Store.
- Google Play: the listing for the same service shows a content rating of
Everyone
. Everand on Google Play.
We read both listings directly on October 27, 2026. The Google Play label is below the floor in the terms. Nothing we read explains why. Google says a developer receives a rating by completing a questionnaire in the Play Console, so the label reflects the answers the developer gave there. As general advice, treat the terms, which are the service's own statement of who may use it, as a better guide than a store label.
Apps, web and offline reading
| Where | Available | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| iPhone and iPad | Yes | Seller Scribd; free with in-app purchases. |
| Android | Yes | Scribd, Inc.; Google Play rating Everyone; 10M+ downloads; 614K reviews (inventory). |
| Web browser | Yes | Website; scripts get a 'Client Challenge' page and a normal browser loads it. |
There are iPhone and Android apps, and a website. The App Store text says to "Read or listen across devices, even offline" and "Download audiobooks to listen offline". The Android listing shows Scribd, Inc. as developer and 10M+ downloads. Our offline reading page lists the services that document it.
What the content rules cover
Section 9.1(b) of the Global Terms sets rules for content that users "upload, post, distribute, or otherwise make available". It bars material that, in a reasonable person's view, is "objectionable, offensive, indecent, pornographic, obscene", anything that depicts or appears to depict a person under 18 in a lewd, provocative or sexual manner, and text or images generated by AI "to an extent determined by the Company". That is a rule for uploads. It does not describe the licensed titles Everand carries from publishers, so it tells you little about what the Erotica category may contain.
Cancelling and refunds
Section 6.0 of the Subscriber Agreement says you may cancel "through your account settings after logging into the Site or the App", and that cancellation takes effect immediately but access continues until the paid-up period ends. Cancelling by email to support@scribd.com or through the Everand Support website is also listed. Section 5.0 says "All fees and charges are nonrefundable and there are no refunds or credits, except as expressly set forth in our Refund Policy", which we did not read. The general steps are in our guide to cancelling a story app subscription.
Privacy, billing and age
An account is required, and the age check is the terms, since no document check is described. We looked for a sentence stating that all characters are adults in the Global Terms, the Subscriber Agreement and the App Store text and did not find one. The Global Terms bar content that depicts a person under 18 in a sexual manner, which is a rule for uploads and a different thing from a statement about every character. That describes the pages we read, not the catalogue. We did not record a card descriptor, a privacy policy address or the Data safety section. For the statement line, see what erotica apps look like on a bank statement.
Pros
- One subscription covers ebooks, audiobooks and podcasts
- Offline reading and listening are stated in the store text
- The trial is 30 days on the website, with one free title
- Cancelling is available from account settings
Cons
- The terms and the App Store say 18+ while Google Play says Everyone
- The Erotica category needs a subscription to browse, and no rule for licensed titles is stated
- One in-app plan, Everand Plus at $16.99, is not described
- Fees are non-refundable except under a Refund Policy we did not read
Best Everand alternatives
Kindle+ is the closest in price, at $11.99 a month plus taxes in the US with a 30-day trial, but it is a borrowing library whose titles leave when you cancel, and it publishes no erotica rule. Apple Books and Google Play Books have no subscription and price each title. Smashwords sells DRM-free ebooks and keeps erotica off until a registered user switches it on. If you want something free, Literotica costs nothing and Archive of Our Own is ad-free.

Final verdict
Everand is a conventional subscription library at $11.99 a month with a clear trial, a plain way to cancel and a disagreement about age ratings that readers deserve to see. It suits someone who wants ebooks, audiobooks and podcasts in one place and will pay before browsing the Erotica category. We have not used it, so this rests on the home page, the store listings and the terms.
