Quick answer
- Choose Bloom Stories if you want to listen free first: a free account unlocks a rotating selection of audios, "no time limit or trial period" on its own wording. It also states that no AI writes, records or edits its stories.
- Choose Dipsea if you want the lower published price: $12.99 a month or $69.99 a year, against $131.40 a year at Bloom Stories. Its store text also mentions offline downloads, and its apps were updated in 2026.
- The gap: Bloom's annual plan is $61.41 more than Dipsea's. Its monthly plan is $29.95 on one site's sign-up page source and $29.99 on the other site's FAQ, against Dipsea's $12.99.
- The same claim: both say they hold 1000+ audios. Those are company figures, and neither is a count we made.
- Age: both use an 18+ checkbox at sign-up, rate 18+ on the App Store and 17+ on Google Play, and publish no sentence saying all characters are adults.
Two human-narrated audio libraries with the same headline size are easy to confuse, and the pricing is where they part. Bloom Stories sells a membership at a price that two of its own pages state differently, behind a free account that works as a standing sampler. Dipsea sells a flat subscription with a trial on the annual plan. The table sets out the fields both records carry, as checked in October 2026.

"Not confirmed" means the pages we read do not say, which is different from "no". Two age rows need a reading note. The row for the minimum age in a service's own terms is empty in both records, because the figure sits in the age-check field instead: both Terms say 18 or older. And "Says all characters are adults" reads "Not confirmed" where we looked for such a sentence and found none. Bloom Stories' "Free tier" cell holds its free selection, a rotating set of audios and not a full plan.
Bloom Stories has two websites
Bloom Stories runs on two live sites, bloomstories.com and audiodesires.com. The imprint and Terms on bloomstories.com name Quicku GmbH of Munich. The audiodesires.com home FAQ says "Audiodesires by Bloom Stories" and refers to "Our sister page Bloom Stories", and its Terms refer to "Bloom". That is as far as the wording goes, so we claim no other relationship. We read prices from both, and they do not match, which is covered in the price section. Dipsea has one site, dipseastories.com, and is run by Dipsea Inc. of San Francisco.
Library, formats and languages
The headline claims are close. Bloom Stories says "1000+ audios" with "500+ multi-voice stories", and Dipsea's FAQ post, dated May 9, 2024, says "1000+ audio stories and audiobooks". Both are company figures.
The formats overlap and differ. Bloom lists Signature Series (full-cast), "You & Me" episodes, guides, sleep audio and licensed romance audiobooks, and the audiodesires.com site describes "10-30 minute stories, pleasure guides, and diverse roleplays". Dipsea lists multi-chapter series, many of them full-cast, single-narrator second-person audios, very short "overheard" clips, audiobooks, sleep scenes, guided wellness audio and romance novels to read, so it covers text as well as sound. Dipsea publishes no story lengths. On language, the Bloom home page lists English, German, Spanish and French, while Dipsea's languages are not recorded. Bloom's genre tags sit behind sign-up, so we cannot compare tags; Dipsea's home page tags include contemporary, fantasy, paranormal, historical and Regency, Western, sapphic, queer, M/M, M/F/M and "why-choose".
Narration and the AI question
Both use human voices. Bloom's FAQ calls its stories "100% human-made" and answers the AI question directly: "We never use AI to write, record, or edit any of our stories ... no LLMs, no voice cloning, and no AI-produced images." Dipsea's home page says "professionally written and voice-acted", and the narration comes from voice actors it recruits. Dipsea's pages we read say nothing about AI, so we make no claim for or against.
One place where Bloom's own materials disagree: its one AI feature, Bloom Chat, was discontinued, but the iPhone listing text still advertises "AI roleplay chatbots". We treat the listing text as out of date, since the listing was last updated on January 31, 2025 and the website says the feature is gone. We have not listened to either service, so we cannot say how the voices sound. Our page on apps with voice narration lists which services say they use human narrators.
Free access: a sampler against a trial
This is the clearest difference between the two. The Bloom FAQ says "A free Bloom Stories account gives you access to a curated selection of free audios that change each week ... no time limit or trial period." On audiodesires.com the wording is "As a free member, you get access to a selection of free stories each month", so weekly on one site and monthly on the other. Which audios are free changes over time, and no trial is stated for the paid plans.
Dipsea has no free plan on its sign-up page. It offers "7 Days Free ... (only $5.83/month) billed annually when trial ends", so the trial is on the annual plan, gives the full library for a week and bills $69.99 at the end. The monthly plan has no trial, and whether a card is needed is not stated. The Terms say Dipsea "may" let you listen to some content free at sign-up, which is not a promise. The practical difference is time: Bloom's free selection has no time limit stated, while Dipsea's trial lasts seven days. Our page on free audio erotica compares the other services with a free route.
Bloom Stories vs Dipsea on price
Bloom's visible plan cards need an account, which we do not create. The figures below come from the sign-up page source on bloomstories.com (monthly, three-month and annual) and from the home FAQ on audiodesires.com (monthly and annual). Only the annual figure matches on both. Treat every Bloom figure as unconfirmed as a buyer sees it. Dipsea's come from its sign-up page and Help Center, and its store descriptions quote the same prices.
| Cost | Bloom Stories | Dipsea |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly | $29.95 (bloomstories.com sign-up page source) or $29.99 (audiodesires.com FAQ) | $12.99 |
| Three months | $59.85 (sign-up page source), or $19.95 a month | No such plan |
| Annual | $131.40 on both sites, worded "only $10.95/mo" | $69.99, worded "only $5.83/month" |
| Twelve monthly payments (our arithmetic) | $359.40 at $29.95 | $155.88 |
| Saved by paying annually (our arithmetic) | $228.00, about 63 percent | $85.89, about 55 percent |
| Trial | None stated; a free account instead | 7 days, annual plan only |
The gaps in dollars: month to month, Bloom costs $16.96 more at $29.95, or $17.00 more at $29.99. Paying annually, Bloom is $61.41 more a year, $10.95 against $5.83 a month, a gap of $5.12. Bloom's own FAQ calls the annual plan "a fantastic 63% savings over our month-to-month plan", and the arithmetic agrees: twelve payments of $29.95 is $359.40, and $131.40 is about 37 percent of that. The four-cent difference between the two sites on the monthly plan is $0.48 over a year, which matters less than the fact that neither is a card a buyer sees. A student price exists on bloomstories.com; its amount was not seen. The audiodesires.com FAQ says payment is by PayPal, credit card, Apple Pay or Google Pay; Dipsea's payment methods are not recorded.
The detail is on what Bloom Stories costs and what Dipsea costs. The sign-up source describes Bloom's plans as automatically rebilling; cancellation steps and refund rules are not recorded for either service.
Apps, web player and offline
Both have iPhone, Android and web versions. Bloom's web player carries the full content, per its FAQ ("in your favourite browser"). The store listings differ on freshness. Bloom's iPhone listing (Quicku GmbH, rated 18+) was last updated on January 31, 2025, and its Google Play listing (rated 17+, 10K+ downloads) on July 14, 2025. Dipsea's were updated on August 25, 2026 and July 31, 2026, with 500K+ downloads on Google Play. An older listing is not proof of a neglected app, but it is the only evidence we have.
The Bloom App Store listing shows no in-app purchases, so we have no store price to set beside the web figures, and the pages we read do not say how the apps connect to a web subscription. On offline listening, Dipsea's Google Play text says "Download your favorite stories to listen offline". Nothing we read for Bloom mentions it, so it is not confirmed either way. The services that document downloads are on our offline reading page.
Narrators and writers
Bloom invites creators by email, with one address for voices and one for writers, and publishes no payment terms. Dipsea's Write for Us page says "All writing opportunities are paid", and a separate page invites voice actors; it describes no royalty. Neither publishes a revenue share, so for both the creator side is an application route and not a marketplace like Quinn's. The pay models of other services are in how erotica platforms pay writers.
Privacy, billing and age
Bloom's sign-up checkbox reads "I am 18 years or older and agree to your Terms of Service", and its Terms say "You may use the Services only if you are 18 years or older"; the audiodesires.com Terms carry the same eligibility wording. Dipsea's checkbox reads "By checking this box, I certify I am at least 18 years old". Neither describes a document check. Both apps are rated 18+ on the App Store and 17+ on Google Play.
Neither service states that all characters are adults. For Bloom we searched the bloomstories.com Terms, FAQ and home page for the words character, fictional, minor and under 18, and read the audiodesires.com home FAQ and the store text; the audiodesires.com Terms were read for user-age wording only, and the tag list is behind sign-up. For Dipsea we searched the Terms, FAQ, About, Write for Us and sign-up pages. That describes the pages we read, not the catalogues. A privacy policy address, card descriptor and discreet-billing answer are not recorded for either.
Which one should you pick?
- Best for listening free before paying: Bloom Stories, whose free account carries a rotating selection with no time limit. Dipsea's only free route is a seven-day trial.
- Best for the lowest published price: Dipsea, at $12.99 a month or $69.99 a year.
- Best for a stated no-AI policy: Bloom Stories, which says it uses no AI to write, record or edit. Dipsea says nothing on the point.
- Best for German, Spanish or French: Bloom Stories, whose home page lists them. Dipsea's languages are not recorded.
- Best for offline listening on the record: Dipsea, since only its store text mentions downloads.
- Best for apps that were updated this year: Dipsea, by the store dates.
The wider field is on Dipsea alternatives, and the same specialist set is compared in Dipsea vs Quinn. The audio erotica section has every service side by side, and the full list of pairs is in the comparisons section.
FAQ
Is Bloom Stories more expensive than Dipsea?
On the published figures, yes. Bloom's annual plan is $131.40 against Dipsea's $69.99, and its monthly plan is $29.95 or $29.99 against $12.99. Bloom's monthly figures come from page source and an FAQ, because its plan cards need an account.
Is Bloom Stories free?
Partly. A free account gives access to a selection of free audios that changes over time, with no time limit stated. Full access is a paid membership. Dipsea has no standing free plan, only a 7-day trial on the annual plan.
Are Bloom Stories and Audiodesires the same service?
They are two live websites. audiodesires.com calls itself "Audiodesires by Bloom Stories" and refers to Bloom Stories as its sister page. It is not a redirect, and the wording is all we have, so we claim no other relationship.
Do Bloom Stories and Dipsea use AI voices?
Bloom says it never uses AI to write, record or edit its stories, and that it uses no voice cloning. Dipsea's pages we read describe voice-acted stories and do not mention AI either way.
Do Bloom Stories and Dipsea say all characters are adults?
No. We looked on each service's Terms, FAQ and store text and found no such sentence. Both state a minimum age of 18 for the listener, which is a different rule.
