When we read the Google results for this search on October 27, 2026, they split between story apps and story sites on one side and, on the other, directories of porn apps, AI pages and audio roundups. The phrase means different things to different people, so start here.

If you landed here wanting video, the section on what to do if you wanted video says what we can and cannot tell you. The word porn also overlaps with erotica and with smut, and our glossary entry on what smut means separates them. We use the explicit term here because it is the one people search for, and we describe what a service publishes; we do not write or quote explicit passages.

How we picked, and what we could not test

Six services are ranked, as one of the lists in our best-of section, and the order follows four points that a service publishes about itself.

1. Its own rules allow explicit text. A sentence in the terms, rules or guidelines, not a store rating.
2. It says who the characters are. A written rule or footer about the age of characters, which is separate from the minimum age for readers.
3. It works on a phone. A store app, or a site that runs in a browser.
4. Cost and the free part are published, and the record is not thin.

The order is a judgement from those points and not a calculation. A footer or a rule is a published statement and not an audit of the catalogue, which for the community sites is written by users and which we have not read title by title. We did not install, subscribe to or read anything on these services, so we cannot judge their stories, their moderation in practice, or what an age prompt looks like on a phone. Literotica's Terms say the site may include graphic visual depictions and descriptions of nudity and sexual activity and may not be accessed by anyone under 18. Reading is free with no account, and the About page claims more than 500,000 stories. A footer on every page reads Characters in all stories are over 18, and the Content Guidelines bar any sexual activity involving characters under 18, fan fiction in which characters are artificially aged, and works generated by AI.

It is first because it combines an explicit permission, a character rule, a free library and no sign-up with the fewest gaps in its record. The catch is that it is a website: we found no iPhone app and no Literotica listing on Google Play. The age check is an agreement by visiting. Chyoa is a community library of interactive adult fiction in which each chapter leads to several continuations and any registered user can write the next branch. Its page title is Interactive Sex Stories. The six written rules are no sex involving characters under 18 (the minimum character age is 18), no bestiality, no excessive violence, no plagiarism, no spam and a 250-word minimum, and none restricts explicit sex between adult characters. The footer reads All characters in all stories on this site are over 18. Most visible stories can be read signed out.

It is second because its record has gaps. We found no separate terms-of-service page and no named operator, and no iPhone or Android listing by name search, which is not proof that none exists. The site is supported by ads, and it carries paid placements for outside AI roleplay and girlfriend services, which are third-party links and not its product. Crave is a text reader for erotic stories. Its listing says Read, don't listen, and describes erotic fantasy stories, new erotica added weekly and kink. The home page sample is headed This story contains adult content. 18+ only. Its Terms say you need to be at least 18, and contain the sentence that all characters in the stories are portrayed as 18 or older, regardless of context or setting. The App Store rates it 18+ and shows an Age Assurance control.

It is third because it is an app with a stated rule but a thin record. No company is named on its website, and the App Store seller is VAVAVA, MB. Ten subscription items run from $4.99 a week to $69.99, several with no billing period, what is free is not described, and the Terms say no refunds are offered. It is iPhone only, with no Google Play listing found by name, and was last updated on February 18, 2026.

Outfox Stories is a community fiction site for adults. Its Content Guidelines say Adult and NSFW fiction is welcome on Outfox Stories - including explicit sexual content - as long as it follows the rules on this page. Readers and writers can branch an existing story, and an AI model runs chats and text adventures, and the Premium page says The AI will write mature content. Mature content must have a strictly adults-only cast. Stories start as Premium, and most move to the free tier a few months after publication.

It is fourth because it lacks Crave's blanket sentence about characters and Literotica's free-from-day-one library. Basic is $8 a month, or $6 a month on an annual subscription, with a 14-day trial, and free AI use is capped. The Premium page says some regions, including the UK, Australia, many US states, Germany and Brazil, require a one-time age verification before mature content unlocks, and does not say how it works. We found no store app by name search.

Pirr is an interactive fiction app that writes text only: its homepage says it creates written stories and nothing in images, video or audio. Explicit content is off by default and is switched on under Advanced Settings by users who confirm they are 18 or older. Its Code of Conduct says Pirr is an 18+ platform and that all characters in sexual content must be 18 or older, and it bars sexual content involving real people. The FAQ says stories you create stay private until you publish them.

It is fifth because the stories are produced with the help of AI and the explicit part sits behind a setting rather than being the product. The free plan allows 20 daily Standard AI actions and one character per story. The App Store rates it 18+ and Google Play Mature 17+, and a web beta exists. The website price wording is ambiguous, as the best erotica apps list explains.

Satinaire is an Android app of AI-written romance and fantasy serials with a spice dial. Reading is free to start, with ads between chapters, and rewarded ads can unlock free chapters. Its Terms say you must be 17 to create an account and that content at spice level 4 or higher, and anything in its explicit genre categories, is restricted to users 18 or older. The date of birth is asked when you open restricted content, and is self-reported.

It is sixth because the record is thin on cost and age. Coins unlock chapters, but prices and the cost of a chapter are not published, and Google Play shows only a range of $0.99 to $69.99 per item. The library is 900+ stories on Google Play and 1,500+ on the website, which disagree. Purchases are non-refundable, there is no statement that all characters are adults, and Google Play shows 100+ downloads. Narration is AI too.

What each publishes about the age of characters

This is the sentence we look for first. It is a different thing from a minimum age for readers, and a footer is a published rule, not an audit.

We found no sentence about the age of characters on the pages we read, and we do not link into its works, tags or searches.

If you wanted video, or you are not sure what you found

We do not review porn video apps, cam sites or companion chat, and none of the services above is one. We cannot vouch for any, so we will not rank or link them. What we can give is what the stores' own published rules imply, and a way to tell what a listing is.

Both stores ban sexual content as the point of an app. Apple's guideline 1.1.4 bans overtly sexual or pornographic material, and Google Play's policy says We don't allow apps that contain or promote sexual content or profanity, including pornography. Google allows a book or video catalogue app to carry sexual titles when they are a minor fraction of the catalogue and are not promoted, which is the exception reading platforms rely on, and Apple lets an app show incidental mature content from a web service only if it is hidden by default and switched on through the website. That fits the pattern on this page: the large explicit libraries are websites, and the apps keep the explicit part behind a setting. No service in our records says this is why. 1. Read the description, not the screenshots. Apple requires icons and screenshots to suit a 4+ rating whatever the app contains, so tame images tell you nothing about what is inside.
2. Look for the words stories, novels or read. Words such as live, cams, videos or chat with mean it is not a story service, and not one we cover.
3. Check that the service names who runs it, publishes terms with a minimum age, and says what it does when something breaks its rules. This is general advice and not something we tested. Chyoa is on this page despite publishing no terms-of-service page and no named operator that we could find, and its entry says so.
4. Treat anything you would install from outside a store as unreviewed by that store.

Some of the results for this search are directories of porn apps and sites. We have not reviewed what they list, and our pages carry no affiliate links. If the plain meaning of your search was a story, the six picks above are the answer; if it was a video, this site is not.

Looks like a porn story app, and says no

Several of the best-known free reading apps are the wrong place for explicit text, by their own terms. The full table is on free porn story apps, and the short version is this.

• GoodNovel bars user content with sexually explicit description, cover and graphic, etc. (including any pornography), and Dreame lists sexually explicit or pornographic among material its users must not post. Webnovel bars indecent and pornographic content under terms last updated in 2019.
• Wattpad bans pornographic content created primarily for sexual arousal and allows explicit scenes only in stories rated Mature. Tapas says Any and all content intended for sexual gratification is not allowed, while its website markets Mature versions.
• Dorian excludes explicit sexual content in its guidelines, and StoryLoom's policy says pornographic content is not permitted. FanFiction.Net does not accept explicit content.

Paying, and what shows up on a statement

Two of the six are free to read all the way through, the library sites, and a third, Outfox Stories, becomes free story by story. The apps charge: Crave from $4.99 a week, Pirr from a free plan to $12.99 a month on the App Store, and Satinaire in coins whose price we cannot read. None of our records publishes a card descriptor, so we cannot say what any charge is called on a statement. Crave, Pirr and Satinaire all state that purchases are not refunded or are final, so check the first charge before you rely on a plan.
